Professor Christian Lambert NGUENA, PhD in Economics, brings extensive expertise to his role as Principal Research Director and Full Professor at the university. With 18 years of professional experience, he has made significant contributions to the field of economics. At the University of Dschang, he serves as Head of the Department of Economic Analysis and Policy within the Faculty of Economics and Management. Since 2018, he has been a member of the Cameroon Academy of Young Scientists (CAYS), where he holds the prestigious position of First Secretary General.

Beyond his academic achievements, Professor NGUENA possesses remarkable international experience. He has collaborated with renowned organizations such as the World Bank, the Nordic Africa Institute, the European Commission, the African Development Bank, the United Nations, and the African Capacity Building Foundation. He is also an active member of prestigious scientific societies, including the Econometric Society, CEDIMES, the African Finance and Economics Association, and the International Economic Association.

Throughout his career, Professor NGUENA has received numerous distinctions, awards, and research grants. These include the Australian World Institute Fellowship (2008), the University of Fribourg Fellowship (2009), the United Nations Research Fellowship (2011), the IDRC/Trust Africa Research Grant (2012), the World Bank Group Fellowship (2013), the International Economic Association World Congress of Economists Grant (2015), the University of Dschang Research Grant (2017), and the African Economic Research Consortium Research Grant (2019). He also received the highest distinction at the CAMES continental university aggregation competition (2021).

More recently, Professor NGUENA was appointed Senior Visiting Researcher at Uppsala University–Nordic Africa Institute (2020), Senior Consultant at the African Development Bank (RDGS) (2021), Visiting Professor at the University of Huelva under the Erasmus+ Programme (2022), and Associate Researcher at the University of Clermont Auvergne (CERDI). His research has been published in leading scientific journals, and he serves on the editorial board of several prestigious academic journals. He also contributes as a reviewer for journals such as the Journal of Financial Economic Policy, the Portuguese Economic Journal, and the African Development Review, among others.
